Reflexology is a touch therapy that helps relieve symptoms created by stress, illness, or a state of imbalance. Instead of reaching for a painkiller or a steroid, try a reflexology treatment.
The plantar of our feet represents the map of our body. All of our organs and various sections of our body have a miniature projection on this map. They are called reflex points. Palpation of the reflex points allows the therapist to detect puffiness, hard tissues or the presence of crystals. These findings along with sensitivity can indicate an imbalance. The rhythmic application of pressure on and around these points starts a process of deep relaxation. It stimulates blood circulation and nervous influxes around the body. Congestion is released and the body can start its healing process.
Reflexology doesn't cure and is not a substitute for medical treatment or advice. It is a complementary therapy that helps normalize body functions.
Sessions last 45 minutes to an hour. During the first session we will discuss your medical history and health issues. You will feel the benefits of reflexology after the first session. More sessions may be necessary depending on your body's ability to heal.
Reflexology looks at the body as a whole. For example, if you suffer from migraines, the palpation of the plantar might reveal an imbalance in the reflex points of the digestive system. I would then enquire about your eating habits and possible foods that might trigger a migraine. Or perhaps the reflex zone of the neck might indicate tension and a restriction in the blood supply to the brain.
My treatments incorporate Precision Reflexology. This involves a light linking of two or more reflex points between the fingertips. Analysis of the pulsation between the points allows me to detect and release any further imbalances. Reflexology brings both physiological and psychological relief. “Walking on air”, “a weight lifted from the shoulders”, are frequent comments after a treatment.
I am a mobile therapist. Tariffs can be discussed over the phone or by email.
