EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE
EFT derives from Thought Field Therapy, developed in the 70's by Dr Callaghan who combined kinesiology and his knowledge of Meridians and acupressure. Dr Callaghan cured one of his client's fear of water by simply tapping on the stomach meridian located under the eye. His aim was to clear the horrible sensation in her stomach when she thought of water. The technique worked instantaneously and Thought Field Therapy (TFT) was born. One of Dr Callaghan's student's, Gary Craig, determined that the action of tapping was more crucial than targeting a specific meridian. He then devised a shorter sequence that would be easier to use and named it EFT. This sequence is illustrated on the drawing.
When you experience a negative emotion, the body goes into a “fight or flight” mode, releasing stress hormones (adrenaline and noradrenaline) into the bloodstream. Tapping re-programs the brain and calms the body down. If you tune into a negative emotion while tapping the meridians, you are sending a calming message to your brain. The result of tapping often comes with a feeling of lightness or “I’m not bothered anymore”.
EFT can be used to release a wide range of issues like stress, anxiety, pain, negative thoughts, limiting beliefs, disturbing memories, post-traumatic stress disorder, addictions and phobias. As a certified EFT practitioner, my role is to guide you through the EFT procedure, help you target a problem and give you the tools to work on yourself to clear emotional and physical blockages. The sessions last between 45 minutes to an hour. They can take place in the comfort of your home or through on-line video conferencing.
Tariffs can be discussed over the phone or by email.
